In Lean Six Sigma and process improvement work, performance issues rarely sit inside the task, but like to lurk in the handover between tasks.
I recently shared a Lean Six Sigma case study article on how a post-surgery ICU transfer was redesigned and reduced by roughly 50% through clearer leadership, sequenced communication and structured movement.
But methodology alone doesn’t tell the whole story.
I’ve also prepared a separate carousel that looks at how the collaboration with Formula One teams actually came about and how cross-industry thinking shaped the redesign.
This carousel focuses on the technical side - the numbers, the structural gaps, and the specific changes that made the difference.
Spoiler alert - no new tech or additional budget, but better process architecture.
If you are working on operational excellence and haven’t mapped your handovers yet, that’s probably where your biggest opportunity is hiding.
